the 9th release on excentric muziks off-shoot rekluse brings with it a very welcome edition to the rekluse family, we are sure matt cooper is somebody who you will be hearing a lot more about in the nearest future, that is if you havent heard of him already...
from his mixmag >future hero< tag, to his efx1000 tutorial videos for pioneer (he has been likened to james zabiela but with bigger bass lines) and his ongoing residency at the dirty disco in leeds (the northern light was the original home for the club night which the ep title pays homage to), the only piece missing from his jigsaw was the production side of things, until now. he recently teamed up with spektre to launch their new respekt label with the >cuernos cubanos< collaboration, and now we are very proud to present matts first ever solo productions, brought together as >the northern light ep<.
>pack your trunks< is dark twisted statement of intent, with a hearthrob-esque hook giving off the feeling that the track is ever so slightly on the brink of loosing it, before that tough gloomy groove reminds you just why you were listening in the first place, and why you have to listen to it just that one more time...

as the european summer draws to a close, the next rekluse release takes a brief change in direction and offers up something a little lighter to accompany the last of the hazy rays. after the previous electronic madness from simon stokes, mr copy, loco & jam and kiko we are joined for this release by la based artist erphun.
erphun has had a pretty hectic summer himself, appearing on steve lawler s viva , dave seaman s audio therapy , oliver huntemann s ideal audio and stephen bodzin s hertzblut . not a bad run at all. with previous releases and remixes on mutekki , saw recordings , excentric muzik and forthcoming releases on bedrock (+ john digweed s new comp) as well as 8 sided dice , this guy has had a busy couple of years...
to complete the package mr henry von (joint label owner of rekluse with fergie) has reworked tu sueno, giving it some of his trademark bite and re-marrying the vocal to the breakdown, keeping things shaking until there is no where left to go but to bring that beat straight back in...

excentric off-shoot rekluse has had a great start so far with carl cox, hell, slam, laurent garnier, james lavelle, technasia, stacey pullen andanderson noise all regularly supporting the label. the previous 4 releases have shown the labels sound to be developing rather nicely with a consistent ear for high production quality alongside a drive for exciting and unconventional electronic music for the dancefloor.the 5th release for the label is supplied by loco & jam, 2 guys who have been really making a name for hemselves in 2009, already with a release on >italo business< under their belts and their remix of henry von s propaganda that has made it s way onto carl coxs >space 2009< compilation. with forthcoming releases penned for >hedgehog< and for umeks >sixteenofive< imprint these guys from limavady, northern ireland are definitely ones to watch out for. >medusa< has been fergie & mr henry von s secret weapon since they first got hold of it, never failing to completely destroy any club that has had it pumped through its soundsystem, as well as support from king unique & the japanese popstars who have been behind it since day one. the a sideis backed with 2 seriously strong cuts that show l&js ability in the studio to take things up a notch (whats the matter) or to twist things up somewhat(virus).

rekluse, the new label from excentrics fergie and henry von, is continuing to gain momentum and followers very nicely indeed. after the umek >2nd to none< smash that just wont go away and the carl cox cained >propaganda< comes the >dude people ep< from one of france s most consistent electronic producers to date, kiko. international dj gigolos, afu, confused and datapunk are just some of the esteemed labels kiko has released on previously. his rekluse outing heads down the more accessible techno route with all 3 tracks sure to find their way into a wide variety of top jocks sets. the first 2 tracks are driving monsters, >dude people< with its continuously sinking bass line and >black dahlia< with its intense percussion arrangement. the ep is brought to a dramatic close with >such erotic< which has electronic anthem written all over it

fergie s offshoot label - rekluse is back after a short break with a new release from joint label owner - mr henry von. the track itself is a belting siren laden killer that builds brilliantly to devastating effect. on the a side there are also a couple of useful air raid sirens thrown in for club use. on the flip side there is a brilliant remix from loco and jam that superbly utilises the original parts. the second track to finish - graceland is also highly effective.

this is a great start from a cool new brand by fergie !! he is a producer and dj who has delivered some high quality content on his own excentric music label over the last couple of years. that brand is purely to showcase fergie s own productions and now he has decided to start a new sub label to showcase the music of others musically aligned to himself. this first release is a large killer called 2nd to none from the mighty umek with its killer hooks and major league production. on the flip there are 2 superb remixes from tony de clerque and f sonik.
