sapiens label boss, agoria, invites cannes highly regarded limelight resident nicolas masseyeff to the floor with a deep, dark and enignimatic two track ep ‘muse. opening with ep title track, ‘muse blends bold, ominous synth lines and stripped back percussion for a driven, bodzin-esque cut of the highest order. on the flip, is the subtle groove filled ‘moment of truth, neatly textured with layers of intricate percussion and brooding synth toplines.

dedicated to giving newcomers an honest platform to showcase their talents, this run of compilations is to be comprised of crystalline electronic music, spanning out across various forms. the inaugural offering sees villanova and time team up to reshape la chicas oasis with brushstrokes of subtle melancholy, teho fuse contemporary deep house with ukg and yeuz pair of idiosyncratic compositions, for the modern dance floor. label founder, agoria, ventures south of one hundred and ten beats per minute on his remix of embers, cloaking stefan smiths original in humility and innocence. a few words from the artists … about their tracks oasis: the original track brings us a very unique vibe, the work of the analog textures implement perfectly the unique voice of la chica …as soon as i listen to it i was hooked to make a remix that would keep the same feeling .. but adding the energy and dynamic to make it floor friendly. embers: other than music, stefans only other passion in life is reading samuel beckett. whilst reading his radio play embers he got a call from nicolas becker asking him to contribute some work to a project. he set about composing this track with becketts words reverberating around his head. this track somehow made it into the hands of becketts friend/collaborator agoria and here we are.

agorias second outing on sapiens presents some of his most uncompromising work to date. boomerang manifests live percussion and analog pulse waves, rising through shepard tone drama and succinct, minimalist form. three additional solo performances accompany the title track - a clin doeil to the minimalist french synth pioneers of yesteryear. an exercise in humanity.

“eagles & butterflies has taken storm in electronic wonderland - boiler room arpeggiator was originally titled 14 minutes of arps and its exactly that. its one of the simplest tracks iv ever made with probably only 8 layers that your weaves in and out the whole way through, really love the subtleness of this track where at the same time it is also a beast! oyeme is maybe the e&b sound people are familiar with, big marimba melodies, fat sub and rolling hats with a big break, love this one prophet was originally just an experiment when i purchased a prophet 6, its a little crazy and pretty full on, love the funky bass in the one from the sh 101. all the parts for this where recorded in a few takes live and two whole track was made in 2 hours!

the elegant superposition of the melody and the rhythm of this music offers the best prelude to the new label called sapiens, represented by an emblematic artist of the electronic music scene, and ambassador of the hexagone for more than 15 years. this track is representative of his news inspirations and influences, and reveals artistic intentions shifted toward an incredible musical and human wealth.

oxias classic domino gets reworked for its ten year anniversary - in 2 vinyl parts. a decade after initially seeing the light, oxias now classic domino gets reworked to celebrate its anniversary. the new release features a new cut by oxia himself as well as several remixes by none other than frankey & sandrino, robag wruhme and matador. the ep will be released through agoria’s newly found record label sapiens on february 24th. ten years ago the track made waves in the international dance music circuit, striking up chords with techno, trance and house djs alike to quickly become an all-time classic. having never expected the track to reach the status that it his, its a very dear project to oxia and he needed quite some persuading to give in and let agoria and his team create something that was worthy of the original. the set of tracks are the first officially commissioned remixes by oxia ever. finding remixers took some time, the amazing frankey & sandrino whos track acamar is my absolute favourite of 2015, matador that just launched his rukus label as well is the multi-talented ex label mate at kompakt robag wruhme. they are all incredibly gifted and fortunately patient enough to wait for this ep
