>strombooty< (for details, consult your local urban dictionary) is the modern dalessandro sound, combining heady experimentation with dance floor prowess. the eps title track is a deep, yet explosive number that creeps in subtly like dark clouds on the horizon, before raining down a devastating thunderstorm over the speakers.
the latin-flavored >el tapatio< and super-deep cut >speak to me< make up the b-side. although the tracks represent different aspects of the dalessandro sound, the commonality they share is a thoughtful approach to dance music that much of the formulaic output these days lacks.

without a doubt, chicago native huge hephner has garnered quite the reputation as an international playboy - pimpin and whorin his way into the electronic music worlds stream of consciousness. however, behind the tough guy persona is a highly underrated producer with an unbridled passion for music and love of the analog gear he uses to produce such increasingly in-demand sounds. it is this perversion that lends meaning to the title of his debut album, nymphotech, released on none other than the label that helped launch his career, siteholder records. unflinching in its house vibe, yet relentless in its dance floor attack, nymphotech is a highly impressive debut album by a producer who continues to up his game with each successive release. hephner kicks off part one of a two-part vinyl album sampler with the chugging acid burner sharing the same title as the album. nothing less than 4 a.m. packed club material, to play nympotech at any other time would be a failure to recognize this bombs full potential. jack n coke is undoubtedly huges nod to his hometowns house legacy, showcasing a flirtatious bass line that screams funk in all caps. wheres the acid? fans of hephner might ask. leave that up to freaky $ean da don, featuring the vocal debut of huges body guard and reputed hitman who bears the same name as the tracks title. if nymphotech is any indication of whats to come from mr. hephner, we can only hope huge will manage to stay out of jail long enough to produce a follow-up

following the success of last years >nitrogen 2 oxygen 1< ep for siteholder records and the recently released >filthy fibber< ep on uncut, the duo of billy dalessandro and daniel mnookin have teamed up once again under the slutbox moniker to deliver the >backseat driver< ep. switching up the rotation, the ep kicks off with los angeles based producer jason emsleys >lick it, smack it, rub it down remix<, a filthy number that no amount of sludge can adequately describe. a subtle, yet effective rhythm section keeps the dance floor busy while the dirty synth overtones grow larger and larger until they have conquered ones brain synapses. feeding off of the original vocal and adding some x-rated lines of his own, if pornographic techno wasnt a genre before, it is now. the original is pure slutbox at its best. deep bass, seductive rhythm, addictive loops, and a spanish guitar combine to make this one another club killer. as if you had a choice, please make your way to the dance floor - the night has begun. rounding out the vinyl release is st. louis via berlin dj/producer butane (a.k.a. andrew rasse). known for his widely praised work on his own alphahouse label, as well as top techno imprints dumb unit, num, and rrygular, butane has long been a friend of the siteholder crew and takes this opportunity to make his debut on the remix tip. deep, druggy, and hypnotic, butanes >percocet remix< is what one has come to expect from the late night veteran. whether its early evening, time to jack, or after-after hours, the >backseat driver< ep is an all-in-one tech fueled necessity

if this were an episode of the game show jeopardy and the following track titles represented an answer, the correct question would undoubtedly be what is a huge hephner ep?. after his highly successful debut (booty drop ep) on siteholder uncut, as well as various remix projects, the funk slut himself returns with his virgin vinyl effort for siteholder records. following what he calls a highly inspirational trip to the strip clubs and whorehouses of las vegas, hephner took his sexual adventures and turned them into an ep that couples ass-shaking funk with in-your-face bass. it seems that his pimpin escapades have finally found an outlet that wont land him in jail, but instead on some of the sickest sound systems our planets nightclubs have to offer

another bomb that will definitely not make it through airport security undetected. explosive kicks serenade a nasty acid line over a signature dalessandro-style vocal. this peak timer is no holds barred techno armageddon. new york based clink rec artist elon makes his debut appearance for the siteholder team with a storming remix. twisted effects, a unique take on the vocal, and a pulsating bass line define this hard-hitting approach. fearless in its pursuit and certainly without any room for prisoners, this re-working of >are you there< comes out of the gate sprinting and never lets down. another successful new york-chicago connection has been made. rounding out the ep, brian ffar follows up his highly successful >ballroom hustler< ep with a take on the single reflecting his cultivated production style. an atmospheric tech house approach reveals well-placed synths over the drawn out vocal from the original. but dont assume this is child s play, ffars kick drum isnt afraid to pummel a club systems subs. the avalanche inducing bass line that follows caps off this fifth siteholder record with a very clear message: >are you there< is serious business

slutbox (billy dalessandro & daniel mnookin) >nitrogen 2 oxygen 1< ep (jason emsley & brian ffar remixes) billy dalessandros, daniel mnookin & brian ffars beloved siteholder returns with one of the best releases in the labels history. the sound is infectious, minimal minded and addictive, spreading through the world like an epidemic this only proves their chapter on techno is yet to be written. the title track is intricate, layered and warm, some might say it makes reference to sleeparchive with its metallic drums and deep analog vibrations. the massive sub bass is something you must experience on a raging dancefloor at 5am, this will jack you straight into the afternoon. dark haunting vocals (very on par with the m_nus crew) clicks & cuts percussion and decaying melodies. flip this one over for massive analog richness with this huge jason emsley mix which i get the feeling he took a lot of influence from dan bell back in the day as this sounds like revisiting the 7th city again, stunning. the brian ffar & huge hephner mix is filled with ever evolving basslines and residual synth pulses on top of bass sophistication thatll beg for deviant behavior at any hour. perfection if i may say so myself, do not miss
