label head honchos rhode & brown finally debut on their own imprint, slam city jams, after putting out music on fellow labels toy tonics and public possession. produced over the past two years, the wave 100 ep might be the most versatile record by the munich-based fellas so far. on the title track we have an euphoric hint of 80s synth nostalgia, slapped bass and banging woodsticks (did someone say safri duo?!). sparkle on a2 feels like the joy of a fresh breeze on hot summer days whilst living la vida loca in the clouds - b/w phat bass, sweet flutes & strings. on the flip there is love lane, a classic house track with a funked up bassline, shuffling snares and the most erotic vocal in human history. moon bells on b2 is the soundtrack to that road trip you did back in 86 with a juno 106 arpeggiator bassline, percussive drums and airy synths all around. over europe on b3 rounds off this special 5-tracker with beautiful ambient spheres straight from outta space.

slam city jams are back with their first compilation. a 4-tracker packed up with five amazing artists from all over the globe. and lets face it: its a breaky affair! starting off with our munich homeboys from coeo. known for their funked up house tunes on toy tonics, they start into complete new realms this time. ‚never going home‘ is the perfect example of a dope broken beat electro tune, that with its weird synth line & smooth breakdown never failed on a gig in the last months. on a2 the man doppelate from london (lets go swimming rec.) exactly hits the spot with mezmerizing synths, tight drum programming and a crunchy acid bassline on ‚four feet up the stairs‘. the flip side starts off with label head honchos rhode & brown, who teamed up with their buddy leo woelfel from austria, both known for releases on toy tonics, public possession or lets play house. here the name ‚more drama (less hysteria) says it all: pure drama on this breaky acid tune! to round up this great package weve got marco lazovic from moscow on b2. he digs deep ‚in the jungle with rolling 707 drums, dreamy synths and this tropical atmosphere we cant get enough of.

newborn munich based label slam city jams comes around the corner with its first release from young gun gonima straight outta montreal, canada. his grids ep? an exciting mixture of swinging distorted drums, catchy melodies and hazy atmospheres. you can definitely spot gonima s passion for dx7 adventures, analog drums and tape hiss right here. opener -grids- starts off with lush synth blips, 707 drums and a bassline bootsy collins would give high-fives for. -subdivided- is one of these tracks that shows you that it doesn’t need more than a few elements to get you going: a rough kick drum, cowbells and a smooth pad that gets slapped by just one bass note. the last original on b2 is the ambient-like -organ tutorials-, which shifts your mind directly to outer space. and as if all this wasn t enough, someone really special did a great remix job – khotin from 1080p fame, who gave the a2 cut a treat with his unique trademark sound. four house and ambient tracks both for the floor and the couch. or as gonima puts it: -an ep that has the sound of visiting home in the winter and rediscovering environments frequented in the past, birthing previously obscured memories. the sounds within are a ritual dance to stay warm through the procession of the seasons-
