spectrum recordings returns after a lengthy break to bring in the new year with a bang! 2 brand new tracks with the vibes straight of detroit circa 1993, brought up to date in a 2010 style, all courtesy of mat puffett - aka future beat alliance.
>diagram< has already caused a stir with its gruff roaring bassline juxtapositioned against the warm uplifting strings and pads. this is an intelligent and beautiful piece of electronic music, but still has the weight to work on the dancefloor and will appeal to a wide range of house and techno djs.
the flipside >crying sine< is a hypnotic groover surrounded by lush, atmospheric pads and spacey percussion: its also very dj friendly and across the board support is expected.
spectrum have taken a look back to move forward, and manage to sound as current as ever in an ode to the glory days of techno.

spectrum recordings returns after the summer months with a fantastic deep dark two tracker to take us into those shorter nights of the year from italian duo ascion & davide carbone. the a side >shaved< is a stripped down dubby groover, with eerie vocal stabs and spacey edits. this has a seriously tripped out vibe, which is perfect for the after hours, but still with more then enough punch to work at peak time, with some layered percussion or effects. the flip side >spectral town< is a minimal funky track, superbly produced and once again perfect for the after hours. a very cool and classy record from a label stamping its mark on the scene, and still only in its first year of releasing music. look out for future releases from ramon tapia, gui boratto and alan fitzpatrick. big things to come!

andre sobota returns to spectrum with another techbomb. black pearl takes us on a slightly tougher and germanic route compared to his previous outing on spectrum. its building synth line and driving deep bassline will have a cross over appeal to a wide range of djs. remix duties come courtesy of spektre, work their usual magic on this.

incl. jerome sydenham rmx !! nihad tule has had a busy few months working on new material for adam beyerÆs iconic drumcode imprint. luckily he found sometime to deliver spectrum this masterpiece of dubbed out, deep, melodic techno. its a beautiful driving track with swirling and rising synth-lines that are ideal for the early morning vibe, but still has enough weight, in the massive bassline and drums to keep the dance floor very happy indeed. remix duties come courtesy of jerome sydenham, another producer making some serious waves at the moment and also awaiting an imminent release on drumcode.

incl. petar dundov remix joel mull >soursweet< finally sees the light of day! – it was actually the very first record signed to spectrum and was due to be the opening but release but due to unforeseen circumstances, the release was delayed. but it has totally been worth the wait as the final package has already got a few very select djs, who were lucky enough to receive it, very hot under the collar. remix duties come courtesy of petar dundov who’s mix has already gain early support from eric prydz who said: ‘this is absolutely massive! a sure hit of miami and summer 2009

spectrum continues to move full steam ahead into 2009, and follows with another solid release this time courtesy of marco bailey with his track spektral. this deep and dubby groover is sure to keep the progressive heads happy but still carries enough weight to keep the all techno tots smiling too, a seriously good track from the belgian techno don.

now we follow up with a fantastic debut single from andre sobota. fresh from remixing our first release, andre delivers a melodic deep techno bomb of his own. >self constructive< builds and morphs with beautiful eerie pads and an oh so funky bassline, that will surely get the crowds on their feet. remix duty on this occasion falls in the hands of the new shining light of the british techno scene – alan fitzpatrick
