for our 9th instalment, holdie gawn takes the lead and is delivering his first solo ep for sylphe, while micawber takes a break. on the a-side, holdie gawns natural habitat, we find yborg, a 12 minute long piece of darker, glitched-up techno which moves slowly yet forcefully. expanding into a terrain of bleeps and dissonant harmonies, ‘’yborg’’ number remains loyal to the twisted sylphe electronics we have been used to. on the b side we have t & t, a rolling, broken beat swingy techno-house jam which grooves effortlessly and shows a different of holdie. wonky, bubbling basslines and stretched voices complete the mosaic of holdie’s the first b side. our 9th release will be out in time for our 3rd birthday, around mid-late february

after an 8 month long break, sylphe is back, this time changing things for the first time with a solo ep by the b side dweller, micawber. he is delivering two solid, thumping techno cuts in the well-known mystifying sylphe mood. on the a side we have * fasma*, a rolling, melancholic techno jam. sparkling rhythms meet lamenting melodies in a 10 minute trip of bubbly sub-basslines and transcendent grooves. on the usual b side micawber is delivering yenbashu. a psyched-out trip into electronics, it moves swiftly into an experimental territory of madness, full of edgy and shuffled up beats. both cuts remain true to the sound sylphe has forged, albeit taking a sharper turn and evolving naturally. we will be pressing 599 copies.

as 2014 comes to an end, the london based duo is closing the year with yet another split ep. on the a-side we have vimmes, a low-slung groove with percussive textures that expand gradually and steadily, evolving along shadowy soundscapes and intricate rhythms. its a fine example of holdie gawns personal style, stripped back grooves moving along melodic tones and sound design. micawber on the other side offers a shuffled up house track under the name de jure. syncopated synth lines, lush pads and melodic textures make this an warm, lush early morning electronic affair.

holdie gawn & micawber are back with sylphe06: once again working around their usual split format. holdie gawns * moon ride* is a haunting, melancholic trip in a deep mood, that stretches slowly and steadily over 12 minutes in a journey of enchanted synths and micro-grooves. over to the b side we have * vattum* by micawber, a solid, stopming techo affair with a large, deep bassline & kikcdrum, resonating and pulsating slowly. on top crispy rides, hats & glitches accompany the groove slowly, making this ep a fine comdination between two very different yet effective tracks for the mind and the dancefloor.

as 2013 draws to a close, sylphes very own holdie gawn & micawber are delivering their first release for 2014, sylphe 05. taking shape in the familiar split format, the sylphe duo is delivering their most daring work to date. a side features >thron<, an acid influenced deep groover which expands over 11 minutes and builds up slowly with stomping sub-bass notes, combined with smooth sonic textures: a fine blend of new and old school influenced with a modern approach. on the flip, >f7< sounds a lot like an ongoing computation process. riding along edgy electronic soundscapes and a heavy kick & bass combination, it evolves evolving gradually into an experimental jam, packed up with shuffled glitches and rhythms. one copy per customer
