2019 repress the elusive and enigmatic brazilian producer ‘coastdream’ resurfaces on x-kalay with his third ep, and arguably best work to date. coastdream has garnered something of a cult following throughout the burgeoning underground music community, his instantly recognisable brand of woozy 5am power house and diy club tracks form a signature sound few can come close to.

coastdream returns to x-kalay with the summer heaters! after over a year’s hiatus and much hard labour in the studio he follows up his hugely successful breakthrough record, soft moon, with the shine ep. picking up very much where soft moon left off, this latest offering is classic feel good coastdream - sun drenched house music inspired by the golden beaches of his native brazil.

london based artist doppelate is next up on x-kalay and debuts on the label with a four tracker of detroit house inspired club jams. having initially caught our attention with his records for our friends over at lets go swimming we’re super excited to provide the platform for his next release.

following up lou karsh’s excellent “ataraxia” ep we’re hitting up australia once again, such is the level of burgeoning talent down under. this time it’s the turn of sydney native e davd.

departing from the lush green planet earth and hurtling through the atmosphere in a burst of punching subs, clattering snares and flying melodies. number six on london’s ever impressive x-kaly has arrived. four cuts that do the right amount damage via a heady mixture of ethereal wandering pads, pulsating sine wave bass, improv jazz keys, languid stepped bass lines and deliciously skittish percussion all shimmering in a bath of otherworldly delight. next level stuff!

produced on an array of hardware in slim steve’s bedroom in rome, this is a refreshingly honest ep and takes x-kalay into somewhat nostalgic territory. 90’s ballads meet sampled italo percussion, skittish pitched up vocals pierce dangerous basslines and lung busting breakdowns give way to searching lasers in smoke filled rooms. english born italian steve langrish accomplishes all this with a level of effortlessness that belies his astonishingly young years.
