Label heads Amir & Butch joined forces for the fun of it and the result could already well be one of the most sophisticated, grooving and exciting dance-tunes of the year. Not just the overwhelming success of bouq.’s first release ”Talking Drums” came as a welcome surprise, but also the amount of attention the two Mainz-based producers have experienced throughout the last year.
Butch has arisen to be the new shining star of the scene with releasing high quality procuctions on such renowned and also style-contradicting labels as AFU limited, Area Remote, Trapez and 8Bit, which underline the recognition he receives as well as his muscial and creative versatility.
Amir took a time out from the studio last year to concentrate on his future; the decision was builiding the brand bouq. together with his partners and friends Caio Duncan, Chris Laut, Rocky, Sebastian Lutz and of course Butch. After a few months break from the studio, Butch and Amir set up a new sound-system in the studio which immediatley elated Amir’s state of mind and ideas. Once back in the studio it has been hard to get him out again, his releases on Trapez Ltd. and 8Bit are major successes, which stormed into the playlists of Luciano, 2000 and One, Sensitiva, Brother’s Vibe, Nic Fanciulli, Gregor Tresher and Laurent Garnier amongst others.
On bouq.002’s A-side ”Nani Nani” the prominent bouq. A&Rs take us on a trip to their Arabic heritage and enchant with their excellent sound, very sensitive flair and an incredibly driving groove. The flip is a Butch solo production entitled ”Bengal Tiger” also including intense vocals but indulges more in his typically spheric and psychedelic soundscape and is a sure shoot on the floors and festival grounds around the globe. You’ve just got to feel this one!
