The Berlin-based producer and remixer Henrik Schwarz, one of Germanys most respected DJs, brings his trademark love of jazz and deep house to two separate versions. Schwarz s Club Mix re-engineers the track as a sleek dance tune, speeding up Chris vocal into a restless, nervy, emotionally naked torch song. His Dub Version, meanwhile, builds into a hypnotic instrumental collage of bubbling beats, twinkling pianos and elastic basslines. At over seven minutes long, not a second is wasted. By contrast, the chic Parisian re-edit maestro Pilooski strips the track down into a cubist collage of rhythmic throbs and sparkles, with a staccato piano melody pulsing through it like a heartbeat. It s a playful and vibrant fusion, where soul-baring Yorkshire poetry meets sleek French disco chic.
