The eleventh episode of Disco Deviance comes straight out of Liverpool in the UK from the emerging talent that is Cosmic Boogie. Starting out as a collective (inspired by local DJ legend Greg Wilson) based around the Cosmic Boogie website, which is dedicated to pushing groove based music and knowledge about the scene, Cosmic Boogie has developed into a DJ persona and quality imprint in its own right.
For this release Cosmic Boogie edit, blend, overdub and effect some all time classic tracks into hot new versions that are ready to rock those disco dance floors. On the A side Electra’s seminal ‘Feels Good’ gets melted with Candi Staton’s accapella from ‘You Got The Love’ into a mesmerizing, hands-in-the-air anthem that unites two amazing originals into an ecstatic dance floor union. Meanwhile on the flip side, Cosmic Boogie pays homage to one of his all time favourite artists on ‘Heads’ which reworks the original live version of ‘Slippery People’, extends it, subtley overdubs it and takes it to the limit. Both tracks have been lovingly edited, wonderfully re-mastered and cut on hot vinyl at 45 RPM. And both tracks have been ripping up dance floors and festivals throughout the summer from Ibiza to Rockness to the Big Chill to Bestival, when played by Greg Wilson, Dicky Trisco and Cosmic Boogie himself.
