This apparent project debut is actually an undercover guise for one very gifted and prolific producer, who, unsatisfied with all the expectations around him and his music, decided to grow a separate identity with which to break free from the dance music industry's standard of over-hyped succession of "bonfire of vanities". As such, his true identity is to remain a riddle, but a completely worthless one, as the purpose of this mystery is only to valor the music rather than the individual who made it. And just like that, TNT Subhead has grown as a world within a world: where truth claims its importance, over any form of pressure or artistic tampering.
In this particular release (the first of its kind) the Head drops a simple and dirty 909 groove, that follows a low, comfortable bass line with luscious array of atmospheric chords and innocent, heart-felt melodies. Comparable with many a sound works of its kind, "Deep Shit Show" reminds the listener of the magic of the more introspective side of Chicago House, but never-the-less hinting at the emotional side of Detroit's club music tradition, as well as to the joyous dancing and prancing of New York's sound. The remix duty is here attributed to a project that collects two cult status names: John Selway and Elliot Taub who joined minds in order to synchronize patterns as the Neurotic Drum Band... A project with more than a couple of successful releases under their belt, and that downplays both member's background in top notch club techno, in order to free the funkier worm of electronic disco funk that lurked in them. Once again in a glorious 180 gram vinyl, and impeccably mastered by the ever talented Somatik, GROOVEMENT #011 keeps the bar raised high, in music, sound and packaging... a label who never steps back on its vow to put out valuable music that stands the test of time, regardless of names, faces and ...or ... media coverage.
