Christoph Abele aka caTekk is very young but an adept. For years not only resident-DJ of the legendary Club Flex in Vienna but also Live-Act, sound engineer and together with Christopher Groove a promising producer-duo. Even though caTekk and Groove have only been working together since 2010, they already produced for scene-headliners such as Felix Da Housecat or Marco Bailey. However, caTekk not only produces thrilling pieces for the just named heroes - his own releases can be found in countless vinyl bags and DJ-charts. Now the label Houztekk Records is releasing a long hidden jewel from caTekks live-repertoire.
"Vintage Love" is created for the peak-time - it is not an overheating masher with cheap razzmatazz, but a Technobassmonster with pulsating breaks in a prodigious organic gown, which sounds as being tailored in Chicago or Detroit. Another caTekk-treasure named "Cogwheel Dancing" also managed to get on the EP. This track easily teaches worn out, cranked out minimal-tracks, imposed on us everywhere, how to cite such aesthetics indeed but to revaluate them via incredible groove and splendid subtile modulations. Forcefully both pieces show the magnitude of caTekk as a producer. Patrick Pulsinger is the second act in league and as producer an unerring pass. A man, who as Cheap Records legend and international Techno-star (M-Plant, R&S, Disko B, Compost, etc.) does not need an introduction. His remix of "Vintage Love" deals with the subject from a completely different view. Pulsinger's concentration on studio work during the last years is explicitly to hear. Here engines steam in heaps which the Austrian Techno-figurehead already used for own tracks and remittance works. Not only acts such as Hercules & Love Affair or Elektro Guzzi were produced with it. Major focus is put on impressive jazzy vintage-organ-chords and firm percussions - delicate sounds and vocals are drawn in. All breathes in a deep, organic and "rough" way, in a positive sense.
