Nice Price Deal !!! No doubt looking for somewhere with a bit of political stability and a brighter economic future, 24 year old Polish producer Jan Dudzik aka Sekta recently joined many of his compatriots by leaving London and farking off back to his native Warsaw. Luckily, he left us a bottle of the finest vodka to remember him by, and a four track EP of stepping rhythms, fat bass and dubby atmospherics to help wash it down.
Lead track ‘Liquid Tek’combines deep pads, pulsing subs, metallic riffs and broken beats into a floor friendly, but contemplative post dubstepper. Similar elements are combined in “ I Need’ , with a sliver of vocal adding an extra layer to the musical equation. ‘Hakka Riddim’ takes things a bit heavier, coiling beefy synth stabs around it’s insistent rhythms , and employing a spacey string interlude to break things up along the way. Closing track ‘Deep in the Woods’ takes the trace of D n B textures that run through the EP and lets loose, with full on, chopped up Amen breaks accompanying futuristic pads, robo-synths and occasional flourishes of cinematic strings that hint of Easter European nostalgia.
