When approached to join forces in remixing the classic Q-Burns Abstract Message & Lisa Shaw track >This Time< & Rabbit in the Moons >FloorI.D.A.<, Q-BAM + Grumptronix decided to make some special mixes, thankfully ignoring all the new fads of the day. If you get anything out of this just let it be that these are not anything like the other mixes you have heard of these songs. Try them - you will like them - and they will like you in return.
"This Time" feat. Lisa Shaw: Too young to know and too wild to care, they delivered a monster filled with electro bomp and boogie pomp. The lovely vocals of Lisa Shaw deceive the machine-funk lurking beneath, creating a mood for pleasure that will not go unknown. Q-BAM + Grumptronix took apart the 25 sections of the song and added a certain ratio of club beat mischief and vocoder tomfoolery. When it all came down, the track was also run through the new "Hannet-izer" ™ mastering plug-in which gave a sound like the music was shacked up in a lonely place.
Rabbit in the Moon – FloorI.D.A.: It's a FACT (452) that some of the drums may exist as if on a hilltop you can look from, but only a barber from Saville would be able to discern such intricacies. QBAM + Grumptronix understand that ambulances are not always crispy and everything does not always go green, but they do know how to please a DJ looking for the sound of phuture dance floors while keeping one foot firmly rooted in the Hacienda. This particular remix of "FlorrI.D.A." is a killer. A brilliant space-age transmission that all 24-hour party people will love.
