2DIY4 is back to release its third EP! This time its a classic four tracker consisting of two original tracks by hamburg Indie-band Pool and their remixes by Solomun and Stimming. Game Over EP is the debut release of Pool which where founded by Daniel Husten, Nils Hansen and David Stoltzenberg this summer. Its a classic three piece band of guitar, bass, drums and vocals showcasing a particolored, melodic and unique sound.
The head of the release “Game Over” is a straightforward pop song with profound chords, pumping basslines, floating drums and catchy vocals immediately moving you. The songs name ain’t program at all - with Game Over the game has just started. Solomun’s remix of “Game Over” is only adopting the vocals from the original. It’s a funky interpretation including Solomun’s typical sparkling synthy-sounds, dashing drums and a smooth bassline that are keeping their promise - it’s a true dancefloor-anthem. The EP’s second original by Pool, “Don’t Call My Name", is an immediate groover hooking up with “Game Over” though these songs differ a lot. “Don’t Call My Name” has got a warm verse with soft guitars and sleek vocals and a funky chorus and interlude always moving up and down never lacking in build ups and breakdowns. The Stimming-remix of “Don’t Call My Name” is a real viber. Using the vocals, guitars and basslines from the original Stimming slows the song down to a sexy and emotive atmosphazer. Hypnotically entering your mind the remix creates a divine feeling that’s not leaving too soon.
