Just after Francesco Tristano and Danton Eeprom, Cubenx aka Cesar Urbina was the third artist signed to InFiné. While the label was still at the pre-planning stage, InFiné´s A&R´s met Static Discos Boss in Paris, swapped demos and fell in love of the emotional Techno of “Glandula” and “Repeat”. Excelling in sound design, Cubenx built himself a solid reputation of cutting edge Techno producer with “Can’t throw a Stone” as well as experimental beat-wiser (check the “Cold Swell” compilation on Static Discos). At that point, we were all expecting the album to come soon.
But Cesar needed a “wake up” call. Flying back from Europe after few months spent between in Belgium, Berlin and Paris with a broken heart, His I-pod set in shuffle mode start playing a song of Scott Walker.
The lyrics stroke deep and Cesar decided to move to Guadalajara, to find a new job and to start recording his debut album not so surprisingly entitled “On Your Own Again”.
Far from the dance-floor mechanism, this first album pays a tribute to the music which moved his heart at a younger age, permeated the dark beauty of 4AD´s and the British post-punk´s heyday.
