Wunderkid Mondkopf is following up to his album Rising Doom with a techno anthem on his newly born label In Paradisumb acked up with a huge Jesse Somfay remix. Limited to 200 copies for the world. Supported by Surgeon, Norman Nodge

After the dark atmosphere of his breakthrough album "Rising Doom", released last october (a Bleep & Boomkat recommended album), french wunderkid Mondkopf is following up with a techno anthem on his newly born label In Paradisum - also the name of his DJ residency at Rex Club, Paris.

A1 "Ease your pain" associates steady kicks and saturated drums in the fashion of Tommy Four Seven, until a melancholic melody start breezing something reminiscent of Q.Lazzarus' "Goodbye Horses" - the whole thing will work as the perfect track to bring a break in a warehouse techno set.

A2 "Fading Rainbow" is beat-less and quite a contrast with its beautiful, rising ambient keys, slightly lightened by noises which could have come out of field recordings.

B1 "Jesse Somfay" closes the EP with an over 8 minutes long climax - an highly flammable, building acid track which should put clubbers to their knees.

FEEDBACK

Surgeon (Ostgut Ton/Warp): I can use this. Glad not everyone's making fucking dub techno these days.

Norman Nodge (Ostgut Ton/Berghain): I almost would not have checked this release because it´s silly name (in my not authoritative opinion). But I would have missed a fine assembly of tracks, especially the original mix of Erase Your Pain

Jennifer Cardini (Kompakt/Crosstown Rebels): jesse's mix for me ! Angel

Sasha (Renaissance): somfay mix is insane!!

David Marcia (Clash Magazine): A new artist to me. I'll definitely have another listen. Perc (Perc Trax, CLR, Ovum): Both original mixes are great.

Mark EG (Tilllate Magazine/Core Magazine): really like fading rainbow Derek Taylor: The Jesse Somfay mix is outstanding. Absolute madness! Cheers Zigmund Slezak (IDJ): fading rainbow is cool

Jeff Roll (gradientmagazine.com): great John Selway: my oh my... I'd go for the Somfay mix if/when the right moment comes up. could be a good set finisher actually.

ANALYTICTRAIL,FRANKIE,CMYK,LOOSE,MINIBUS: nice package, will try it out soon.

Benoît Carretier (Tsugi): nice one

MCD magazine / WTM radio show (MCD Magazine): another wtm's playlist is coming next year...;-)

Santos (DJ Mag Spain): brutish!!!....Yeah DJ Nori (Posivision): Heavy-Hitting!

Odd Burns (Resident Advisor): Thanks! Downloading.

Bleed (De:Bug): review to follow Christian Kausch (Partysan/Broque): fading rainbow is awesome

Agaric (We Are): Already wanted to pick "excellent" after seeing the cover and overview which might have been premature but sure enough it's awesome, especially Falling Rainbow.

Richie Hawtin (Minus): download for r hawtin

HalfStereo.com: One of the most inspiring releases for the techno district in 2012. Top notch!

LABEL INFO

Launched at the beginning of 2011 by Mondkopf and Guillaume Heuguet, the In Paradisum parties, held in parisian venues such as Rex Club and the digital art center La Gaité Lyrique, have been a huge success in confronting leftfield and techno on the same bill. So far they have mostly welcomed artists who were rarely seen in their city, such as Sandwell District, Demdike Stare, Oneohtrix Point Never, Perc, Tommy Four Seven... In Paradisum is now moving forward as a record label with Mondkopf's new EP "Ease your pain", and more to come by new french talents Somaticae and Low Jack.
