Ukrainian producer Komponente leads off Biatch Corps return to vinyl with this 4 tracker featuring a remixes by Falko Brocksieper and Bettosun. The laid back yet propulsive >Slow Song< and downtempo >Shambala< each get accompanied with a remix.
Although he is relatively new to the techno scene, he has spent quite a lot of time in studios, and he even went so far as to start his own Blumenbeat label in 2010 and continues to release music from other artists there. As far as his own discography, he’s released originals and remixes digitally for a number of labels including Fack, Moleskine Music, Subself, and Gooseneck, and it’s no surprise that his tracks are fixtures both back home in the Ukraine and on Russian radio stations. We here at Biatch Corp in New York find a lot to like about his music – it’s deep, emotional, and expressive, and it sounds great in the living room or on the dancefloor. It is thus with pride that we present the vinyl debut of Komponente featuring remixes from Falko Brocksieper and Bettosun.Komponente leads off with the first of three original tracks, a bird-call infused, melodic house track titled Dancing Days. Toms and dry closed hats alternate here in smooth fashion guided by a wide, warm bassline that’s gradually joined by a horn section. It’s a warm, summery groove for afternoon dancing, and he slows it down further yet to a langorous 109BPM for the follow-up, Shambala. Here, echoing keyboard stabs are stretched psychedelically over sounds reminiscent of flowing water before they’re slowly joined by more melodies that suggest a darker hue than the previous track. It brightens after the halfway point as the undercurrents gain a more rhythmic feel and gently push the melodies more forcefully forward. The final original, Slow Song, is actually faster than its predecessor, and the gentle congos contrast nicely with the kick-hat pattern. Dubby washes slowly creep in from the rear and are again joined by twinkling keyboards to keep things in the easy but propulsive style that is shared by the other two tunes. He takes it out with a vocal pitched down in classic House fashion.
