K Skip Skipson has built himself quite a fan base with his funky releases as (Knarf) Skipson on Quintessentials and other labels. The young man from Berlin is deeply infuenced by Hip Hop – both in terms of production techniques (he uses an MPC as his main instrument) as well as aesthetically. For Maria Colors he comes up with four massive House tracks full of Hip Hop and Soul samples which make you wonder, can it get any deeper than this?! Funky as hell and extremely soulful – thats what makes these tracks from Skipson so special – and at the same time theyre a wonderful way to celebrate the labels first birthday.
