Launching Abstract Theorys vinyl series is Danny Ward aka Moodymanc. An artist who is unafraid to wear his influences on his sleeve. This crate digging, jazz musician, dj and producer is universally known for his forward thinking vinyl releases on deep house label institutions such as Tsuba, 2020 vision and Dessous amongst others, as well of course as his own cheeky imprint and his productions as "Dubble D", and with the groundbreaking "2020 soundsystem".
Here we present two of his original compositions. First up is the sublime tech-edged deep soul of "Tuck". Deep jazzy stabs and samples give way to a rolling bass line to create an uplifting sundrenched journey, all grooving nicely as ever with a backdrop of organic percussion.
On re-mix duty, who better to enrol than Terry Lee Brown Junior . Another artist who has gained long standing respect throughout his career by being unswayed by short term fashions and sticking to his broad and uncompromising vision. Mr. Brown Jr. re-works the samples with typical aplomb and delivers an immediately much more driving version which builds and builds from its jazzy roots.
Next up is "Boppy". A jazzy drum workout pristinely recorded in the Sir George Martin studios in Liverpool which builds with warm pads to a piano led and bass driven crescendo, guarenteed to get any dancefloor locked into the groove.
