Chris Burns steps out on his own with NJ Records’ third release. He is also one half of M+C along with label honcho Mike Simonetti. Chris has worked with Mike on various projects, including mixing duties on Simonetti's Capricorn Rising lp. This emotional two-track 12” showcases Burns’ varied influences and strong songwriting abilities.

I.Y.E., co-written and sung by Denise Henderson, is a peak-hour track that draws upon Burns’ passion for powerful, NY-inspired vocal house. Burns has created a tough, grooving backdrop that highlights Henderson’s incredible ability to juxtapose subdued and expressive vocal deliveries. The result is a triumphant and crowd-pleasing chorus that incites strong, visible reactions on an increasingly discerning dancefloor.

“E-Mo Systems” takes a more melancholic approach and is inspired by Fall foliage experienced in D.C.’s leafy Rock Creek Park. Swollen bass textures and ambient melodies are punctuated by a minor key chord progression that resolves into a sublime climax. This new age inspired instrumental is perfect for lights-on, end of the night moments of magic.
