The excellent Holic Trax label returns with its fourth release, this time featuring the pairing of label boss Tomoki Tamura and Tuccilo under their Doublet moniker… Holic Trax launched last year off the back of Tomoki Tamuras highly successful Holic parties and with the release of three singles to date has garnered support from Djs such as Radio Slave, Groove Armada, Huxley, DJ Sneak and Francois K to name but a few. Now the label boss is teaming up with Italian producer Tuccillo for a new project under the name Doublet with this 3 track EP being the first offering from the pair. The Tees 5 EP was recorded in Tuccillos studio in Ibiza over this winter where the pair have been getting to grips with forging their sound. The package kicks off with the title track, a bass driven old school house workout that is a surefire dancefloor winner with its incessant B-line and rolling percussion. Dark edged synths and high strings bring the mix to a climax whilst the non-stop groove from that super hooky bass continues on without pause, quality stuff. The second of the three cuts on the vinyl comes in the shape of Tamago, a track that sees the pair settle into deep house territory with classic organ stabs, subtle sax stabs and understated vocal edits. To complete the single we have the excellent Soft Joint that marries deep house aesthetics with a rolling breakbeat to create a unique feel. As a bonus Tomoki offers up his T2s DJ Tool mix of Tees 5 providing a stripped mixing tool to compliment the original. Holic Trax releases to date have perfectly hit the mark and there is little doubt that this offering from Doublet will be anything but as popular, enjoy!
