Arne Weinberg is the man behind the alias Valanx and the label owner of diametric. were he has released the album “Xenolith". He also works under the name Onmutu Mechanicks that has two albums under his belt, one on diametric. and one on Echocord plus four 12″ on Echocord & Echocord Colour. Arne Weinberg has also released two albums and a very long list of 12″ under his real name on labels such as his own AW-Recordings and on Propaganda, Styrax Records, Starbaby, Down Low, Headspace, Ground Zero and onwards. SonuoS label boss (Dj Finn of Tomland) came in contact with Arnes wonderful music through the label Echocord and has had the joy to do a warm up dj-set before one of his live gigs at Culture Box in Copenhagen. So naturally i asked Arne to do a 12″ for SonuoS and Arne was kind enough to send me a collection of tracks to choose from and it ended up with these. “Those Who Will Be Held Responsible” a dark brooding affair with its bass sound keeping the slow rhythm ticking in a dark soundscape and that soundscape is all that is left at the end letting this track freefall towards it’s own demise. “Amongst The Mortals” with it’s syncopated rhythm and eerie background sounds takes you on a slow walk among the mortals for sure and is nothing for the faint hearted. “Daughters Of The Everfire” is yet another sinister track from Valanx and with it’s hard bass sound beating the rhythm it takes you on a trip to the dark side. “Daughters Of The Everfire (Yves De Mey Remix)” is a strong rhythmic track were Yves has pulled out all his skills of the hat to rearrange Valanx original version. Yves has used sounds from Valanx and placed them in a new pulsating syncopated rhythmic context were a white noice introduces something new happening along the way.
