American born but Europe based producer DIA serves up the next two tracker on her own WIP label. The DJ also runs her own event space under the same name as well as the Twelveinchesoflove label and is someone who has proved herself adept in the field of heartfelt and instrument rich house music of the course of her career since first emerging in 2007. Brightly coloured and full of dancefloor purpose, this is some of the classiest feel good house you will hear for a while.
Here she serves up two tracks, with the melodically lush ‘Sights’ going first. It pairs a firm kick drum with ever a wash of rippling melodies rushing up the face. Some thick string stabs add drama before things bubble over into euphoric house territory with the arrival of a classic sound male vocal. It reduces down to a blissful breakdown with the string stabs returning and gentler one finger key tinkles adding a sense of intimacy.
On the flip ‘Same as Now’ is just as amped up thanks to the retro chord stabs, but here the beats and percussion are that bit more tech inclined as they build and build. Tension relief comes thanks to more pinging melodies and silvery hi hat cycles and more delightful melody work keeps you locked in place right until the end.
