Glasgow based imprint Tribal Pulse launches this July with Temujin by Boom Merchant, backed with a remix from Pole Folder. Boom Merchant was born in Ireland, raised in Spain and now resides in Glasgow, the hometown of Tribal Pulse. Merchant grew up on a diet of Detroit Techno, House and generally futuristic forward thinking sounds, which is evidently apparent in his own productions. Tribal Pulse therefore is a fitting home for this new release, as the label sets out to deliver deep, pulsating electronic rhythms designed for the dance floor.
The release kicks off with the original of ‘Temujin’, the track features warbling Tuvan throat singing sounds, broken 909 style rhythms and progressive melodies. Acidulant steps up next with a raw, penetrating interpretation of ‘Temujin’, employing dark bass tones, organic rolling percussion and tension building strings. The track takes on the form of analogue acid house with some contemporary sprinklings.
Last up to close the release is Pole Folder’s rework of ‘Temujin’, the Bedrock artist takes things deep with marimba style melodies, crunchy digital drums and bubbling atmospherics.
