For Those That Knoe could technically be labelled as a re-issue label but it's more than that. We seek out those unknown greats whom harbour serious talent that's only fractionally reflected with their modest back catalogue. Basically, we dig a little deeper. Leigh Dickson joins For Those That Knoe for a series of EPs that showcase his exceptional talent for producing house, techno and electro in the deep aesthetic that we love hear at the label HQ. With a raft of quality recordings on his soundcloud, all made in the last 15-20 years, a varied selection of music was whittled down and compiled onto two EPs, both due for release in quick succession in the Summer of 2014. Leigh's first EP kicks off with a recently recorded track Chimera; a soothing and warm electro cut with soft pads and twinkling lead lines. Aerobatics, originally released on Qube in 2002 slots onto the A2; it meanders into darker territory with saw tooth synth basses, squelchy acid and industrial break beats. Sketch Form on the B-side is a slow tempo house track with chunky distorted rhythms and percussive driven bassline, complemented neatly by swooping square pads and a delicate lead. The Closed Box rounds off the EP with its stripped electronic break beat and late night harmonies.
