Jennifer And David Have Joined Forces For A Project Which Will Bring The Dance Floor Walls Crumbling Down!
Sales Information:
Friends since the PULP years, Jennifer Cardini and David Shaw have joined forces for a phenomenal project which will bring the dance floor walls crumbling down! We remember a scene form another life, when we booked a line up for Nuits Sonores in 2006, where the musician, once known as Siskid, majestically opened the ball with Jennifer Cardini closing it at dawn, with a glass of champagne !
A memorable night !
These images, far from being tarnished by the past, came to mind, when we arrived one morning, early October at the brand new Red Bull studio in Paris, where the duo was finalizing it's first 3 first tracks. As one lives in Cologne and the other in Paris, the powers of internet do have limitations !
The genesis of this success story goes even further back than we can remember.
Their first encounter was at the Pulp, 10 years ago, where they spent the entire night (well almost) talking about their mutual taste for bands like Joy Division, the Smiths, Etienne Daho , Stinky Toys…to create their bonds which took a decade to actually emerge . It was the fantastic documentary "Paris is Burning", which introduces the Voguing scene in New York in the 80's, which inspired "In The Ballroom" and "Pepper Labeija", the first fruit of their collaboration. Two electronic pop manifestos, subtely
dark and sexy, where the
aforesaid influences of the duo appear in the background. The chemistry is obvious, grabbing the mike one after the other, the raw energy is in the air. This Autumn session also resulted with a third track "Keep Me Hanging" much more dance floor, where Jennifer's love for strings shines even more. The kind of track that becomes a classic on the first hearing, with multiple effects of the peak hour, arms swaying, head in the clouds. Now that everyone is reeling we detect your impatience……..so when are we going to get to hear Cardini and Shaw ?? O.K. You're going to have to hang on a bit !
Rather than a one shot performance our duo have decided to focus on the long term, which we can assume will lead to an album.
So there it is…….!
