Berlins Away Music imprint extends a warm welcome here with its debut release, a label inspired by the spirit of the >Away< series of parties they have taken from Berlin to Barcelona, with a launch release from compatriot Christian Vance. Fuelled by an uncompromising ethos that will see the EP via a limited run of 350 vinyl copies, Vance is supported on >AWAY Music 001< by remixes from Nuno Dos Santos and label bosses Discrete Circuit themselves. Lead record >Mustang FM< offers the perfect example of Vances polished production talents, a groove-driven techno number that simmers with a Midwestern pulse around the edges. The grittiest of the offerings you will find on this EP, its propelled by the twisted riff at its center, around which Vance skillfully deploys a cast of hi-hats to compliment his bouncy percussion.
