2nd Compute Music release presents a few artist who became driving forces in Berlins Club Culture over a period of 15 years.
AUTOTUNE released the first Ep on Berlin Müller Records back in 99. Countless releases on labels like Forcetracks, MusicMusic, Disco Ink or Fumakilla followed till they found their new home base to release their first album "More than paper" on Dantze Records in 2012. Autotune is constantly thriving to improvethemselves by finding new ways of expression. Orgel 4 contains a lot of that energy coming along with unusual Melody based on a deep solid beat filled with jazzful drum-adds. A recognizable blues voice takes us back into time ...
Toby Dreher is a sound nerd of its own. He work behind the scenes for many Production of well know Artist in Berlin and also constantly releases music under his Name on Labels like Rotary, Ornaments, Acker, 300 Grad or Aroma Music. His sound is based on Functionality & Sounddesign. Back inn 2006 he created the white-label series "We can do it" mostly tracks with significant hook obviously stolen which were play by top Dj´s all over the globe. Atomatik is his contribution to Compute Music; it comes with bulky chords evolving in call and response underlined by a fat analog baseline and a minimal demanding Groove. Its bleeping background is fading in & out.
Didier dlb collected records ever since and got infected pretty quick by the upcoming New Beat & Acid House wave of the late 80`s. Countless hours in Techno Clubs like Warehouse, Dorian Grey, Tresor or E-Werk followed. Somehow influenced by those experiences he developed over the years his approach to electronic music. "Detuned Kawai" sound like a melange of his past mixing up all kind of musical genres. A dub baseline slighly detuned to indian folk singing shares the stage with soothing synths.
Ray Kajioka is a german Techno producer, remixer, DJ and Live Act based in Berlin. He is well known for his releases on Kanzleramt or Cocoon just to name a few. A distinguishing and striking aspect of his music is certainly the warm spheric and impulsive sound, which is constantly present in all his productions. We could convince him to do a rework on Toby Atomatik and the result is a Techno hymn which is searching for his Predator.
