Craig Peyton was a mainstay in NYC jazz and dance music beginning in the 70s. From playing on Dan Hartmans -Vertigo/Relight My Fire- to his work on boogie funk productions with Daryl Payne, he is one of the unsung heroes of the era where disco transitioned into house music. His drum machine and synth based cover of William Devaughans -Just Be Thankful- came out on Profile Records in 1983, a daring move for a white man trained on the vibes. He gives the jam a haunting and funky rework that has only escalated in popularity over the years. It has been bootlegged extensively while original copies remain quite elusive.
