On “The Neptunes Present...Clones” (2003), Chad Hugo and Pharell Williams (aka The Neptunes) snare an all-star cast of featured players, and they ably demonstrate how their skills can adapt to any conceivable personality. The album features four singles, “Frontin” by Pharrell ft. Jay-Z, “Light Your Ass On Fire” by Busta Rhymes, “Hot Damn” by Clipse and “It Blows My Mind” by Snoop Dogg. Limited first pressing of 1500 numbered copies on blue marbled 180 gram audiophile vinyl.
Williams steps out with some help from Jay-Z on "Frontin'," one of the biggest Neptunes-related singles. The funky "Light Your Ass on Fire" features Busta Rhymes' more sexually aggressive and explicit come-ons. Amidst whirling sirens, Dirt McGirt's turn, "Pop Shit," boasts a comical Looney Tunes-worthy arrangement. "Popular Thug," originally a track on Kelis' Wanderland, gets a deserved new look, with Pusha T's role bumped in favor of Nas.
The album debuted at number One on the US Billboard 200 Chart, and ultimately sold over half a million copies in the US, certifying Gold in the process.
