Dubtil’s debut for Amphia comes in line with the previous 10 releases’ tagline: tailoring new musical perspectives into the multidimensional universe of electronic music. The opener -Indoiala- sticks into our brains with its slow decaying voices, pitched down to embrace the devilishly simple percussion. Keeping the same eerie approach to his idea of dancefloor oriented loops, Dubtil completes Side A with -Alta Schema-, another typical kick-led experience enveloped into a more haunting bassline. Bearing a deep house DNA yet not losing contact with the dancefloor energy through its breaks pattern, Side B’s -Repet Slap Repet- opens the gates to the abstract structure of -Contrar-, an apparently chaotic contiguity of weird samples, glued to each other by the minimalistic bassline. Jumping from one genre to another, confronting dusty preconcieved ideas just to turn them into a fresh sound: Dubtil’s imagination fountain is far from getting dry! We now have the tangible proof.
