Following her 1959 appearance in the anti-Apartheid film Come Back, Africa South African native Miriam Makeba vaulted into the international spotlight, fell under the tutelage of Harry Belafonte, and moved to New York City in 1960 where she immediately became a massive recording sensation. This LP collects some of that brilliant early material that launched her career and made her one of the most beloved voices of the 20th century. All tracks recorded 1957 - 1962.
