Shaolin deck master Farron is up next on French imprint Renascence

Shaolin deck master Farron is up next on French imprint Renascence with a four-tracker by way of hammering introduction, featuring extra fatality material from Bristolian daredevil Hodge on the flip. By the second the needle drops, expect thunderous echoes to fill the sky and the heavy air to crack into a downpour of pressurized kicks, swift breaks and sustained industrial clang, eventually dissipating in a dubby mist of big-room reverbs and faded nostalgic tapestries. While 'Veem' engineers a fine combination between floaty pads and a heavyweight mechanical stomp, 'T-Junk' rushes further headlong into old-school ravey breaks terrains, tinged with a remotely extracted hint of '90s ambient tech for good measure. Flip sides and 'Yenoh' guides you into the barren corridors of a rust-eaten steely maze, each face of its walls conducting the groove as some venomous plague. Topping things off in his usually spectacular manner, Hodge takes 'T-Junk' into the zone with his tried-and-tested mix of gut-churning Brizzle bass, rawboned drum programming and transfigured horn blasts ready to sound the revolt on the dancefloor with optimal impact. Better like it rough, chaps - there will be no surrender.
