Canada's Nick Holder is one of those understated heroes of deep house - his career runs far and wide, and can be a bit daunting to dig into retrospectively. That makes a release like this immensely useful, picking out a few absolute gems and giving them a fresh airing. First up is "Love Is Blind" from 1999, a beautiful hazy, shuffling cut for the mellowest moments. "Blackman" is from the year before - a potent message wrapped up in a soulful groove. The record rides out with "She Likes It (Remix)", which works around a nagging drum break to make for a powerful club tool.
