Brett Naucke has previously produced wonderful albums of expressive synthesiser music for Umor Rex, Spectrum Spools, Hausu Mountain and more. His latest opus appears on Make Noise, presumably channeling some of the modular manufacturer's inventive devices through his own working practices to come up with this vibrant and varied EP. From the regal melodic cascade of "Memory Screen" to the crunchy electronica of "Pulse Reader", Naucke sounds like he's having fun and creating some stunning pieces in the process. Look out for the beautiful ambient lilt of "Stolen Dreamtime", a clear highlight on a record full of gems.
