Dancefloor Monster
After his sold out "Fight dem Back/Nu Gun" 12" in 2017, Sun People is finally back
with a banger of an EP for Through These Eyes.
In the last years he crafted his very unique and distinctive style at 160 bpm, which
he now fully expresses on the "Stumble & Grow EP". Successfully he combines the
powerful rhythms of Footwork with the deepness of (old school) Jungle and spices
everything with a hint of Detroit.
There's a thin line between doing the same thing over and over again and having a
true signature sound, Sun People is demonstrating the latter perfect with these four
tracks.
We start the journey with high energy and fast kicks on "It's Yours" before Sun
People takes us to the hidden depths of "Stumble & Grow". The title track truly lives up to its name, the rhythm sucks you right in and lets you dive deeper and deeper as the track progresses.
The B-side opens with "Work", a naughty, bass-driven dancefloor anthem which is
powerful and vigorously but funky and soothing at the same time. The EP closes
out with "All Good", where Sun People deconstructs the best parts of old school
Jungle and puts them back into a modern dancefloor monster with a very intense
atmosphere.
