Amsterdam-based Red Light Radio resident Beraber delivers his ‘Midnite’ EP via Release Sustain, featuring one collaboration with Byron The Aquarius, two solo cuts and a remix from Hidden Spheres. Baris Akardere aka Beraber has been steadily gaining traction over the past few years via his regular shows on the infamous Red Light Radio on his home turf ofAmsterdam, as well as releases on imprints such as Lagaffe Tales, La Freund Recordings and Cognitiva Records. Here though we see him joining the roster ofLondon’s Release Sustain, home to material from the likes of Joey Anderson, Fred P, DJ Aakmael and Losoul amongst others.Leading on the release is title-cut ‘Midnite’, alongside Byron The Aquarius Beraber creates a soul drenched house cut featuring loosely flowing, organic drum grooves, soft string melodies, warm Rhodes and funk-infused synth licks. Rhythm Section / Lobster Theremin artist Hidden Spheres steps up next to rework ‘Midnite’, offering a robust take on things with choppy bass hits and crunchy drums as it’s core, while stirring inthe melodious elements from the original composition for hypnotic effect.On the flip side Beraber goes solo, leading with ‘Keep It Moving’, an apt name for the dynamic, disco-tinged dance floor workout which is fuelled by snaking sub lines, jazzy keys and shuffled drums. ‘Longing For’ then rounds out the package, edging intoBalearic realms via an amalgamation of plucked strings, natural percussive hits ande ther real synth work.
