Warehouse Music presents the stunning debut from Irish DJ and producer Cici.
Irish DJ and producer CICI has unveiled her debut EP ‘Extraneous’, out in July on Mella Dee’s Warehouse Music label.
A four-track release, ‘Extraneous’ kicks off with the title track, a fizzing, breakbeat-driven bomb that has already been supported by BBC Radio 1 and BBC Introducing, where it found its way onto Jaguar’s ‘Hot List’. Next up, ‘Katnip’ is a heads-down cut, characterised by a driving 303 bassline and hypnotic vocal samples, while ‘Go Trip’ is a percussion-led groover that’s just as influenced by psychedelia as the track title suggests. Bumping, soulful house jam ‘Some People’ ensures the EP maintains its dancefloor intensity until the very end. An exceptional artist beyond just sound, CICI hand-painted the backdrop to the EP’s artwork and frequently fuses her passions with sonic inspired abstract paintings.
A self-confessed psychedelic producer, DJ and creator of crystals and cosmic energy, CICI has already performed at some of the most esteemed clubs and festivals on the planet, including Pickle Factory, Pike’s Ibiza, Lovebox Festival and FOLD London. Now living between London and Ibiza, she will play Fabric, Junction 2 Festival, Summer Love Festival and her residency at Cosmic Pineapple in the coming months, as she continues her ascent through the electronic ranks.
A stunning debut offering, ‘Extraneous’ is the work of an electronic artist destined for big things in the near future.
